Bettina WitteVeen is invited to be a lecturer for the 11th Borobudur Writers and Cultural Festival (BWCF) 2022, which will be held online on November 24th - 27th, 2022.
On Nov 26th, at 10:45 am (WIB), Bettina WitteVeen will develop her ideas about “Sacred Sister, Kali and Contemporary Photography”, in conversation with producer and dancer Restu Kusumaningrum.

5 Wounds - The Christa Project
Bettina WitteVeen created a specific installation, entitled “5 Wounds”, for St. John the Divine’s (NY, USA) exhibition titled The Christa Project from October 6, 2016 to March 12, 2017.
The exhibition explores the language, symbol, art and ritual associated with the historic concept of the Christ image, and the ways the divine is manifested in every person, across every gender, race, ethnicity and sexual orientation.
WitteVeen installed 5 life-size photo-sculptures depicting the societal wounds of Greed, Racism, Militarism, Totalitarianism, and Nuclear Weapons in a side chapel of the cathedral.

The ErlKing - Film at Cutlog Paris - Artist Film Festival
Goethe’s lyric “Der Erlkönig” is the departure point for Bettina WitteVeen’s poetic and atmospheric short film, which will be shown at Cutlog Paris 2013, from October 24 - 27, 2013.
The Film is nominated for the “New Writing Prize” and the “Discovery Prize”.

Sacred Sister - Installation & Book Publication
The Monograph “Sacred Sister” with photographs by Bettina WitteVeen is published by Verve Editions. An elegant suite of pavilions for the exhibition has been designed by Robert Wilson, one of the major figures of the avant-garde, whose working process in this collaborative effort is documented in detail. Art historian Charles A. Riley II, Ph.D. traces the mythological and allegorical meanings in the essay “The Lateral Artistry of Bettina WitteVeen”.

Spanning the entire history of photography, from its early development to current practice, and providing a focused understanding of the cultural contexts in which photographers have lived and worked, this remains an all-encompassing survey.
